This is the perfect bass for the young beginner, or an adult who is looking for a lighter, more agile bass that is easier to handle. The dual cutaway shaped body allows access to the highest frets, and the contoured body makes it comfortable to play for hours. The solid alder wood provides a superior, authentic vintage sound. (Many basses in this price range that are sold by other vendors often contain plywood.) Beautiful maple neck with rosewood fingerboard helps deliver excellent tone, and is built with a truss rod. (A truss rod is an adjustable neck reinforcement designed to resist the forward bending force of the high tension of steel strings, and is found in the finest of electric basses.) The design of the neck and adjustable bridge provide excellent action, making this bass very easy to play. J-bass type passive pickups, fully adjustable bridge and non-locking tuners. Single ply white pick-guard. Overall length of bass is 42". Width at its widest point is 12 1/2". Width of the neck at the nut is 1 1/2", and at the 21st fret it is 2 7/16". Scale length is 30".
