CDT engineers have spent countless hours over the past two decades researching the materials, frequency responses, mounting techniques and installation applications involved in producing a set of speakers that can deliver the truest, in-car sound possible. The result is CDT's "Classic" component series, which has earned it's design team countless awards and unanimous praise from around the world.
The component set's CL-6A Midranges are an industry benchmark, featuring pressed treated cones for a smooth natural response. Butyl Rubber surrounds are also used for increased suspension and excursion, while staying resilient to the tough automotive atmosphere. On top, you'll notice a tuned "dust-cap" in the center of the speaker which helps create a wide but still accurate listening range. On the bottom, a strong ferroferrite magnet structure and vented voice coil for increased power handling, which is responsible for the tight mid-bass they effortlessly produce. The engineering goal with the Classic speaker was to create a driver which can re-create "True Midrange" out to, and even beyond the 5000 Hz point. Vocals, guitars, and even pianos have never sounded this life-like.
