Product Description With a body as solid as his reputation, private investigator Drey St. John never dreamed helping the Braddocks discover the truth behind their father's fatal crash would lead to his own mother's shocking confession: Senator Braddock was Drey's biological father. Determined to solve the case, Drey enlisted all-work-and-no-play Charlene Anderson's help. But the more time he spent with the beautiful forensic scientist, the more he realized their sharp banter fronted a simmering mutual attraction that wouldn't be denied. PCharlene's career left no time for exotic playboys. Then she found herself under Drey's roof, in need of his protection#151;and a victim of his seductive charms. But when the late senator's secrets#151;and Drey's true identity#151;were uncovered, would Drey face the betrayals in his past, and his future as a Braddock, with Charlene by his side?

A Nice Little Mystery! December 2, 2008 Baglady 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
3.5 Stars. The author's voice is changing in inexplicable ways. The turn of a phrase (syntax), use of certain words never used before and the way her last few heroes have been jerks to a certain degree. I know that readers will disagree but I challenge any reader to take a little journey back to any of the previous Madaris/Westmoreland/Steele books and you will see men who are sensitive to their lady loves while still being the epitome of the alpha-male that we all adore. Lately the men are all about what they want or what they don't want. They'll tell the women what they want to them to know when they want the women to know it but they insist on the women telling all. br / br /This book was the last book in a continuity and Ms. Jackson did a good job of bringing all the threads together from the other books but the hero was dealing with many things; his parentage, his father's death, his father's driver's death and the big reveal to the family. Add to all of that are his feelings for the heroine. I did like the background for their friendship though and the mystery that is the reason for the continuity br / br /Ms. Jackson has written some books that could literally burn your fingers filled with men (and women) to admire; men who seem to really care about what the women are feeling. br / br /Do not doubt for a second that I will still be buying her books, after all, she is one the best!!! Maybe my expectations are too high but if they are, that is Ms. Jackson's fault.
She is a genius!!!!!!! November 29, 2008 TexasGurl08 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed this book! Mrs. Jackson is my favorite author. I've been reading her books for a long time and have never been disappointed. She aims from all angles of life and experiences and always ends up right on point! She always gives her readers her best and tells it like it is, literally! I will not give anything away in this book, but if you haven't read any of her books by now, you don't know what you're missing. Go get every single Brenda Jackson book right now! You won't be able to put them down. I've read some of mine twice. She is the queen of fiction and romance!I don't think there is anyone on her level!
Good Read November 26, 2008 D. Lee (Garland, TX) This was a good story. We got to know Drey St.John and all of the other characters stories were completed. We find out who killed Harmon, which I already suspected.
Yummy Drey November 21, 2008 M. Peters (Boston,MA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I liked this closing chapter of the 4-book series. br /I found Drey to be unbelieveably romantic and masculine. I really like male characters that invoke that type of feeling when I read their story. I am sick of the virgin female leads though. But Brenda always delivers. br /You'll enjoy it as well!
It was't too bad November 15, 2008 Tanika L. Carroll (McDonough, GA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I enjoyed this book by BJ. I gave it a three because I'm actually kind of tired of her writing about virgins. Love her though, she's an incredible writer. I have almost every single book she's done. I did enjoy the characters in this story. The chemistry between them were great.
