The book describes Yale's little-known two earliest golf courses, and it narrates the design and construction of the present magnificent course in the 1920s. The authors:
John A. Godley (Yale Medical School '62) is a retired physician and member of the Yale Golf Course for over 50 years.
William W. Kelly has been a professor of anthropology at Yale for 31 years and a golfer for longer than that.
