INTERESTING FACTS:
Annibale, with his brother and cousin opened a painting studio called, Academy of the Desiderosi (desirous of fame and learning.) Carracci was referred by the Duke of Parma, Ranuccio I Farnese, to his brother, the Cardinal Odoardo Farnese to paint the Roman Palazzo Farnese. The Farnese ceiling was considered the unrivaled masterpiece of the 17th and 18th centuries. Carracci is credited with inventing the form of caricatures. In 1609, Carracci was buried near Raphael in the Pantheon of Rome.
